who we are

Sheepscot Arts Preserve is run by Abigail and Kevin. We are a married couple who live on the property and run all aspects of the day to day of the center. We have had a lot of help from family and friends to fix the property up, and get it running as an art center.

Abigail is the founder of the residency center and has created the framework for how the center is run. She is a narrative artist who exhibits through a gallery in San Francisco, and takes part in exhibitions and events on a regular basis. She works in oil, illustrates in watercolor, makes large intricate collages, and also has experience with woodwork, stone sculpture, and printmaking. During your residency she is available for anything you need, and in particular is a good resource for anything pertaining to visual art. She does most of the cooking, facilitates the events, can help you navigate the day to day, and will often be found working on the grounds of the center.

Kevin is a pattern maker that specializes in men’s clothing and accessories. He has a small sewing studio on the property where he constructs garments and bags. He is knowledgeable in many textile arts, including, sewing, spinning, dyeing, weaving, and knitting. He also is skilled in photography and alternative printmaking techniques. During residencies, the textile studio is open for residents to use, and he is happy to help anyone who needs it. He is the go to person for anything that needs fixed. You will find him working quietly in the textile studio or cleaning up around the communal spaces.

Both of us are available 24 hours a day for anything that comes up.
